透過瑜伽的修習,人可培養出身體兩側的完美平衡。我們都是從不平衡開始的,我們偏這一側或另一側,若一側比另一側更加活躍,活耀的一側必須成為怠惰一側的上師,使怠惰的一側同樣活耀。Through yoga one can begin to develop a perfect balance between bothe sides of the body. All of us begin with imbalances, favoring one side or the other. When one side is more active than the other, the active side must become the guru for the inactive side to make it equally active.

智性之修養: Wisdom – the intellectual body-單純的練習與修練(sadhana)之間有很大的區別,修練是獲得成就的方法,而成就意味著透過有效的行動與正確的執行而成就真實,真實必須確信無疑並引領我們趨向純淨與解脫。這才是瑜伽的修練,而不僅僅是機械式的重複練習瑜伽體式。There is a great difference between just practicing and sadhana. Sadhana is the way of accomplishing something. That something is by effective performance and correct execution – the achievement of the real. What is real must be true and so lead us toward purity and emancipation. This is yoga sadhana and not the mechanical repetition merely of yoga practice or yogabhyasa

洗澡可以潔淨我們身體的皮膚。而透過練習體位法,我們不但可以淨化血液、滋養細胞,而且還可以同時清潔我們內在微妙的身體。藉由留意我們所消化的食物,我們可以保持身體的潔淨。。。若我們內心擁有潔淨與寧靜,我們就可以與環境互相協調,只要我們保持身心平衡而清淨,日常生活中變化、紛擾,就不會讓我們感到煩惱而身心失衡。我們需要維持內心的寧靜、靈活、輕盈,如此可讓我們進入更深層的洞察與轉變。We can wash the skin of our bodies with a bath, but through asana practice we not only purify our blood and nourish cells. By watching what we ingest into our bodies, we can keep our bodies cleaner. If we have cleanliness and serenity inside, we can harmonize with the immediate environment. We’re in balance and clean, so changes and disturbances in our daily life do not throw us off balance. If we want to transform ourselves, we have to clean or purify, to have that serenity, flexibility, buoyancy within, and then we can go on to the transformations in the deeper levels of consciousness.

避免進食有害機體的食物,太油膩、燥、火辣和酸性的食物對身體沒有好處;平衡、清淡、多元和講究的飲食對健康最好。練習結束後,可以喝一杯輕飲料。但,如果進食固體食物的話,要在一小時後,否則會損害消化系統。
